Damian Martin joined SINI in September 2008 as a as a Sport Science Post Graduate Intern.
Damian holds a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science with DIS (Diploma in Industrial Studies) from the University Of Ulster as well as an MSc in Sports Physiology Liverpool John Moore’s University. Damian has Level 1 Surface Anthropometry - ISAK (International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry) as well as Venepuncture training suitable for Healthcare assistants and Nursing. Damian is a member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences and has completed the workshop programme in conjunction with the Sport Northern Ireland Practitioner Development Programme.
Damian is particularly interested in:
- Monitoring the effects of training & competition loads in high performance sport.
- Examining the physiological and anthropometric characteristics between playing positions in GAA.
- GPS & Heart Rate monitoring technology.
