Lead Performance Scientist

Declan joined SINI as a Physiologist in August 2002.

Declan holds a MSc Sport Physiology (Distinction), John Moores University, Liverpool and a Diploma in Industrial Studies (Commendation) and a BSc Sport, Exercise and Leisure (First Class Honours) from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown.

Declan is a member of the European College of Sports Science and a technical member of the Irish Institute of Sport as well as being accredited with BASES Scientific Research, focusing on Physiology.

Declan is particularly interested in the following aspects of Performance Science

• Training for endurance sports
• Effects of altitude training on performance
• Monitoring work-rate in team sports
