Alex made her senior international debut against Scotland in South Africa in January 2006. Her first major selection was for the World Cup Qualifier in Italy in 2006 with further selections occurring for the European Championships in 2007; Olympic Games Qualification Tournament in 2008; and European Championships in 2009. Alex currently has 60 caps (19 Aug 2009).

As a member of the highly successful Pegasus Club Alex has also winners medals from the Irish Senior Cup; Irish Club Championships; Ulster Winemark Premiership; and Ulster Winemark Shield.
