Mark made his senior international debut for Ireland against Wales in the Celtic Cup in 2004. His first major selection was to the European Nations Trophy in Rome in 2005 with further major selections occurring to the World Cup Qualification Tournament in China in 2006; European Championships in Manchester in 2007; and Olympic Games Qualification Tournament in 2008. Mark currently has 80 caps and scored 40 goals.
Mark has won a gold and silver medal at the U18 European Championships in 2002 and 2003 respectively; European Nations Trophy in 2005; Irish Senior Cup in 2002 and 2004; Irish Club Championships in 2004; Young Ireland Sports Star in 2001 and 2003; and was leading goal scorer at Olympic Games Qualification Tournament in 2008.
In the autumn of 2008 Mark decided to retire from the Irish international squad to pursue an international career with Great Britain. His aim is selection for the Olympic Games in 2012 and the attainment of a medal at that event.
Mark plays hockey professionally in Holland with Den Bosch.
