Philip Deignan is a full time athlete and competes for European cycling team Cervélo Test Team, racing alongside Carlo Sastre. Philip is recognised as Northern Ireland’s top road cyclist, and is currently the only cyclist from Northern Ireland to compete in the Tour of Spain and the Tour of Italy, two of the highest profile cycling events in the world.

In 2008 Philip was selected for the Olympic Games and the World Championships, finishing 81st in the Olympic Games road race.

Philip finished 12^th overall in the Tour of Ireland in August 2009.

Philip won a stage in the Tour of Spain in September 2009 and finished 9th overall.
