Congratulations to SINI Athlete Aileen Morrison, who has kicked off her 2011 season in winning fashion with victory in the ETU (European Triathlon Union) European Cup race in Antalya, Turkey.
A strong performance from Aileen saw her lead the swim and bike in the lead pack, before battling it out with Slovakia’s Mateja Simic in the sprint, with Aileen eventually reaching the tape first to secure the win.

Aileen’s victory continues a very impressive run of results, which over the last 12 months has seen her place fifth in last summer’s European Championships, only to win a historic bronze in the World Championship Series two weeks later.
Commenting on Aileen’s impressive first race of the season, Triathlon Ireland High Performance Director Chris Jones commented:
"Aileen showed last season that she is without doubt a world-class athlete; and she has worked hard over winter and definitely started the 2011 season much stronger and with a very clear focus on the end goal: London 2012. Today's result confirms this and will be a solid platform for her to build on this season".
Aileen will be hoping to continue her impressive form in her next race, at the ITU World Cup event in Ishigaki, Japan on 17th April.
