Bowls
World Bowls (lawn bowls) was born in July 1, 2001 in Scotland thanks to the will of 36 national Federations. The first president was the Scottish John Armstrong. In 2008 in New Zeland John Mc Ardle was elected. He takes the place of Betty Collins, to the World Bowl Presidency.
The game is played on a grass ground (or artificial layer) from 35 to 40 meters long. Bowls (onwood or rubber) have a curved trajectory during the throw, because they are particularly shaped (they weight at max 1600 gram with a 13 centimetres of diameter). The player has to have at least a foot on the carpet lied down on the ground (mat). The ability is to draw up owns bowls to the (jack, white coloured) and to “close” the same or their bows-punto. It is possible to play at single, in pairs, threesome or foursome. (Information from CMSB website)
