Medical
Support 
| As
part of the athlete induction all athletes undertake a medical
profile. While engaged as part of the Institute, Athletes
with specific problems are referred to Professor Michael Cullen
at Musgrave Hospital. Consultation, MRI scans etc are all
charged directly to the Institute and a report is provided
back to medical staff at the Institute. Currently the institute
meets these costs from using its revenue budget although investigations
are taking place to ascertain the costs of joining various
medical insurance schemes are underway through UKSI.

The
Sports Institute Northern Ireland will continue to develop new
medical services with the aim of providing a programme of first
class support to all Institute athletes and their coaches
